False Imprisonment Case Dismissed at Calendar Call–November 2025

Leslie’s Client and Client’s two adult children were all charged with felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor family violence battery based on an incident that involved another adult child as the complaining witness.

State offered pre-trial diversion at the calendar call to resolve each of the cases. But, Client maintained the not guilty plea entered at arraignment and announced ready for trial.

One of Client’s children announced acceptance of the pre-trial diversion offer. The other announced they might be looking to continue the case. But, after a careful review of the case, the State changed course at the same calendar call and dismissed the case against all three co-Defendants rather than have a trial.
